This year’s major championships were scheduled at a wonderfully diverse set of venues – Augusta National, TPC Harding Park, Winged Foot and Royal St. Georges. We had the Olympics in Japan and the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits as well, setting up 2020 to be one of the best years ever for golf lovers.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything.
However, a bright spot emerged: From coast to coast, people realized golf is a great activity that can safely continue during the pandemic. Rounds played skyrocketed, equipment sales boomed and the sport attracted more new players.
Holiday shopping this year promises to be a little more challenging than in years past, but if there is a new golfer on your list or someone who has been playing for years, Golfweek has a great list of gift ideas anyone would love.
