It’s the first major on the men’s pro golf calendar at 2020, the PGA Championship
Originally set for May, the tournament was pushed back almost three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 102nd PGA Championship features a field of 156 golfers at TPC Harding Park, which will play as a par 70 at 7,251 yards. The total purse this week is $11 million, with $1.98 going to the winner.
Brooks Koepka is the defending champion. He is seeking a third straight PGA Championship. In the last 100 years, only two golfers have won the same major in three seasons in a row: Walter Hagen (PGA Championship) and Peter Thomson (The Open Championship). Koepka is also trying to become first golfer since Tiger Woods (2005-08) to win at least one major in four consecutive seasons.
