It’s been five months since Tiger Woods teed it up on the PGA Tour, but the 15-time major champion is back in action this week at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Woods wanted to see how things played out with the Tour’s return amid the COVID-19 global pandemic, and he’s in familiar territory this week in Central Ohio, having won the Memorial a record five times.
Woods last played on Tour at February’s Genesis Invitational, where he stumbled on the weekend with scores of 76-77 to finish in last place (68th).
Follow his opening round alongside Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka below with shot-by-shot analysis.
Hole 1 – Par 4
He’s back and we’re off. Light gray pants and a blue shirt, the Cat looks good today and so does his shot off the first tee: 326 yards down the right side of the fairway. You thought that was nice? His approach from just outside 140 yards lands 10-15 feet in front of the pin and runs to the back-left location, leaving 10 feet for birdie on the first.
How cool is this guy?
